No, your eyes don’t deceive you… Theresa had three gorgeous dresses for her wedding day in the Wedgewood Room at Hotel MacDonald. It really could have been more perfect. The decor was amazing and Rob & Theresa, along with friends and family, put it all together themselves… including the focal point of the room, the beautiful big tree! After getting ready, Rob & Theresa had their “First Look” in the middle of the room and then popped out for a few photos before joining their guests for a pre-ceremony mingle (check out Theresa’s hot red dress!). Shortly thereafter, with a costume change, it was ceremony time and it was just beautiful with a pretty sweet moment celebrating their new family unit. After the ceremony Their were family photos and the GiggleBooth kicked off before a fantastic dinner was served. The evening was lively with speeches, a few serenades and, i think, the most surprising wedding first dance I’ve yet to witness! Congratulations Rob & Theresa!

Edmonton Wedding Photographers | Theresa & Rob | winter wedding sneak peek
Saturday, January 5th, 2013I ended my wedding season on December 30th this year at Theresa & Rob’s gorgeous Hotel MacDonald wedding. At any given time, the Wedgewood Room is beautiful, but it was the prettiest I’d ever seen for this particular wedding. It must have been the huge tree in the middle of the room that just pushed it over the edge… i’ll show some of those photos a little later on. For now, we’ll step out on to the terrace to for one of my favourite wintery formal photos from the wedding day with Rob & Theresa! Congratulations Theresa & Rob!

Edmonton Wedding Photographers – Jenny & Kerrie – chic downtown winter wedding sneak peek
Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013Jenny and Kerrie picked 12/12/12 as their wedding date and it was a fantastic, cold winter day in Edmonton. We started the Day at Union Bank Inn for the getting ready shots before heading to a beautiful ceremony at All Saint’s Cathedral. We braved the cold (-17!!) for a few outdoor photos before heading to the beautiful storefront of faBLOOMosity where we continued the wedding party photos. A huge thank you to Janine for letting us shoot in her beautiful store on that chilly December evening! The store is just spectacular looking and was the perfect backdrop for Jenny & Kerrie’s wedding photos. This one of my favourite shots of Jenny & Kerrie together!

Edmonton Wedding Photographers | Wendy & Jack | winter wedding sneak peek
Sunday, November 11th, 2012Yesterday I headed off to the Muttart Conservatory for a beautiful morning winter wedding with Jack and Wendy. We enjoyed the heat of the tropical pyramid for their ceremony and for most of their portrait session before heading out in to -16 degree weather to catch a few snowy portraits. We were in luck this weekend since the heavy snow fall during the week was still clinging to the trees and it made for perfect winter wonderland photos. I just love this snuggly photo of Wendy and Jack! Congratulations you two!

Edmonton Wedding Photographer | Wintery vintage-inspired tablescape in the Edmonton river valley
Saturday, June 2nd, 2012The winter tends to be a bit slow for Edmonton wedding photographers so that’s the time we get to have lots of fun and create inspiration shoots. Let’s rewind a few months to February for this wintery vintage-inspired tablescape designed by Edmonton Wedding Planner Julia Pringle from Once Upon Your Day. We had waited until February in hopes of having lots of snow… no such luck there! At least there as little bit of snow so things weren’t barren, but we were hoping for piles of the white stuff to complement this white and creme table set up with hints of red from the surrounding cherry trees. The fabulous rosette table linen and beaded chargers were from Elegant Touches, the chair covers and jewelled accents were from A Chair to Remember and the gorgeous cameo-inspired cakes were made by Style Cakes. The vintage-inspired brooch bouquet was by by the Wild Orchid Flower Shop. The retro chandelier was from my studio (originally purchased from Urban Barn). The menu card was from PinkPolka Design.
Edmonton Wedding Photographers | Winter Wedding sneak peek in the River Valley
Sunday, February 19th, 2012Yesterday I photographed a beautiful tablescape for a winter stylized wedding shoot. You might remember our lovely bride from a wedding I photographed a few months ago in Edmonton. Chrissy was awesome and did so well during our shoot in the little bit of snow we still have this winter. When Julia (an Edmonton wedding planner with Once Upon Your Day) and I started planning this shoot back in November, we were envisioning piles of snow… well, can I say that I’ve been happy about the lack of real Edmonton winter this year? The photos still turned out great. Here’s one of my favourite shots from the portrait session of the shoot. Stay tuned for a post on the full shoot with lots of pretty wedding decor inspiration!

Edmonton Wedding Photographer | Jaime & Bruce’s winter wedding at the Muttart Conservatory
Monday, February 28th, 2011Jaime and Bruce were married on a chilly evening back in December 2010. It was December 21st, in fact, the winter solstice, and it was co-o-o-o-o-o-ld! Luckily, inside the holiday pyramid at the Muttart Conservatory was nice and toasty where they had their intimate ceremony surrounded by a pretty christmas set. We stayed in the pyramid to do the family and group photos and we even ventuerd out into the -22 night to shoot Jaime and Bruce alone in front of the conservatory. They were so brave and managed to last almost a half an hour in the cold before we ran to the warmth of the Rose & Crown where the reception was being held! It was a beautiful night and I’m so happy we were lucky enough to be able to capture it all! Here are a few of my favourites!
