This past weekend I went to set up at David’s Bridal in South Edmonton Common to do ring shots while the ladies were in the store looking for wedding dresses. So many newly engaged girls with shiny new rings, how could I resist? And really, every engagement ring deserves to be photographed perfectly so it can be shown off, so I was offering complimentary ring shots! I’m also going to be in the store from 1-4 pm on this coming Saturday (January 26/13), so please drop by to have your ring photographed!
These are my favourite shots from each of the rings that I photographed… I hope to see even more this weekend!

Last weekend found Edmonton in the middle of a heat wave for Whitney and Chayse’s wedding. Considering just how hot it was, you’d think they wouldn’t have been in the mood for hours of wedding photos… not the case though! They were willing and were happy to do it! After the ceremony, we headed out to Kinsmen Park to shoot near the High Level bridge and older houses in the park. We also went out back of the Old Timer’s Cabin to get some photos with the city backdrop, it’s perfect from that spot!
Here’s one of my favourite shots at the end of their formal session before we headed back to the Old Timer’s Cabin in Edmonton for their wedding reception. I stumbled upon this gorgeous spot by accident a few days before and just knew it would be perfect for wedding photos! I had such a great time with Whitney & Chayse and all of their amazing friends and family at their wedding! Here comes a small collection of stunning and unique bouquets that were featured at Bridal Conference back in October 2011. All of these gorgeous designs were made by Janine Sebastian (formerly of La Piazza Dasee) and she now has a new shop called Fabloomosity and we’ll be sure to see even more fantastic creations from her there! The new shop is not too far from ENV studio, it’s over in the Mercer building at 104 and 104. Be sure to check the store out for your wedding flowers and just because.
This one has shocking raspberry Cockscomb and pretty grey Dusty Miller (I think it’s dusty Miller… if it isn’t, please tell me what it is!) in a unique fan shape!
Pretty purple flowers mixed with super trendy succulents. The succulents add a bit of weight to the bouquet, but you don’t have to worry about them wilting at the end of a long, hot wedding day!
Pretty pink bouquet with glass bubbles mixed in.
This one is heavy, but it’s an mix of cotton and succulents… this bouquet with look amazing for months after the wedding!
This a fun and easy to make bouquet using paper butterflies and black feathers.
Can’t go wrong with a classic! Pretty cream and green with a few shiny brooch accents.
A bold cluster of yellow billy balls… just perfect! The black tulle and butterflies add a little whimsy.

Last weekend I headed off to Calgary to second shoot a wedding for John Boccabella Photography. I don’t get to second shoot often and it was pretty exciting to just have time to shoot details! Mina & Aram were married in the Turner Valley Room of the Fairmont Palliser in Calgary. I got to join Mina as she was getting ready and I am still stunned by her beautiful Lazaro wedding gown. Also pretty impressed by how tall her shoes were and how well she seems to manage in them all day! Mina looked like an absolute princess when she headed down to the foyer to meet her husband-to-be as he handed her a gorgeous pink bridal bouquet. After the two had a few moments to share, we went to Eau Claire for a photo session with just the soon-to-be-wed couple and then were joined by family for more pictures.
I headed back to the Fairmont and had a blast catching all of the awesome details (look forward to the Details & Decor post for this one!) before the ceremony started. The ceremony was Muslim and Baha’i and there were lots of cool details, especially they spread of sweets surrounding the couple.
After the ceremony, the reception was hosted in the Crystal Ballroom and it was just gorgeous! Orchids were everywhere! Mina & Aram entered the reception and went straight into their first dance as a married couple. As the night went on a dancer performed for the guests and there was a very cool knife dance before Mina & Aram cut the cake. As we ducked out on the evening, the dance floor was packed and a huge party was in full swing! I’m so happy I was lucky enough to come along for the ride! Thanks to John Boccabella for having me along and congratulations to Mina & Aram!
