I just love being in the mountains. One of the first trips I made when I moved out West was to go to the mountains and I have fallen in love with them ever since. I was super excited to head to Jasper National Park for Ashley & Jody’s wedding, especially because it was in July and the wildflowers are in bloom and it’s just a perfect time to be there. We joined Ashley and her ladies at the Sawridge Inn & Conference Centre where everyone was getting ready before the ceremony. We decided to take Ashley’s dress outside to get an “in nature” shot with and totally lucked out getting some of the local wildlife in the photos. Once everyone was dressed, we headed off to Maligne Lookout for the ceremony. It’s such a beautiful location for a wedding ceremony overlooking the surrounding mountains. We did get rained out a little bit during the ceremony, but after a few umbrellas popped, we all forged on. The rain eventually did subside and we headed to Pyramid Lake for the wedding party photos and for a few shots of Ashley & Jody alone. The day turned out perfectly after the rain dried up and we headed back to the Sawridge for a beautiful reception featuring yellow and grey. The reception was a great time, especially when guests had to hula hoop for Ashley & Jody to kiss! Congratulations Ashley & Jody!

Jasper Wedding Photographers | Ashley & Jody | Pyramid Lake sneak peek
Tuesday, July 24th, 2012This past weekend I found myself in beautiful Jasper National Park to photograph Ashley & Jody’s wedding. It’s just the perfect destination for a wedding to be surrounded by glorious nature and it’s still easily accessible for friends and family, a perfect combination! This had to be a rough summer for Jasper wedding photographers because the mosquitos were crazy and they were everywhere! Luckily they stayed away for the ceremony, but we were constantly followed pretty the rest of the time we were there. We had arrived the day before to scout locations and were just overwhelmed by how many beautiful places there were to take photos! I think eight hours for wedding formals wouldn’t have enough time to go to all the places we picked!
After the rainy wedding ceremony, we headed off to Pyramid Lake to do photos of the wedding party and our fabulous bride and groom. We lucked out with the skies starting to clear and got beautiful cloud cover and just a little sun peeking out, it was spectacular! For this photo, we found a little patch of wildflowers in front of a grove of popular trees, and then we just watched the magic happen between them! Ashley & Jody are just perfect together! I couldn’t resist laying down in the very wet grass so that I could surround them by the gorgeous flowers for this picture… but I’ll do whatever it takes capture the perfect photo (and maybe gripe about the 300 mosquito bites I got while taking this particular photo 
)
So you might be wondering where the lake is… well, you’re just going to have to come back later to see more of Ashley & Jody’s perfect wedding day for that! It’s worth the wait though, I promise!

Lake Louise Wedding Photographer | Nyla & Channce | Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Wedding
Monday, March 19th, 2012I was a little worried when I left Calgary to drive in to Lake Louise for Nyla & Chance’s wedding at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. It was only early October and it was cold and rainy and I knew once I got past Banff it would just get colder driving into the mountains. I got to the hotel (and wow, is it ever spectacular!) and the temperature was hovering just above ) degrees and I was afraid it was going to be too cold for photos outside. I wandered in to catch the boys getting ready in the awesome suite where the ceremony was to take place and then went over to hang out with Nyla and her sister as they were getting ready. There we lots of pretty details for me to play with too. After the getting ready we headed over the Belvedere Suite where the ceremony was going to take place on the Balcony overlooking Lake Louise and the mountains beyond…
It was a small gathering of close family and friends. I followed Nyla as she snuck toward the suite and then I ran upstairs to capture her entrance! It was a sweet ceremony. Afterwards we braved the cold and rain and took photos outside on the hotel grounds before heading back to the suite for a few more shots. Just as we were packing it up for the day, the sun broke though and we took some of my favourite photos of the day!
Don’t be deceived… it was darn chilly in Lake Louise that day!

Ok, this one, however, is ALL about the rings! Look at them! Wow!

Canmore Wedding Photographers | Bethany & Jason | Silvertip Resort wedding
Monday, December 5th, 2011Bethany & Jason’s Canmore destination wedding was the last wedding of my three wedding weekend, and boy, it was a fabulous way to end a very busy weekend! Leaving Edmonton, the weather was so-so, but as I got closer to Canmore, the weather just got better and better! The ceremony was outside on a gorgeous plateau at Silvertip Resort overlooking the mountains. We stayed around Silvertip for most of the photos, although we did go down into the river in Canmore. The reception was also at Silvertip and it was just perfect!!
Just look at that backdrop for the ceremony! Stunning!
Jason was so excited when he caught a glimpse of Bethany stepping out of the limo.
Their nephew was adorable trying to ring to bell to welcome Bethany.

Banff Wedding Photographer | Lisanne & Dale’s beautiful Rocky Mountain wedding at the Fairmont Banff Springs
Friday, August 20th, 2010Two weeks ago I found myself on the way to Calgary in anticipation on Lisanne and Dale’s wedding in Banff on Augest 7th. The ceremony and reception were at the Fairmont Banff Springs and it was absolutely amazing! Lisanne was a beautiful bride and Dale looked pretty darn dashing too! The lovely bridesmaids were one of my favourite dresses of all time! The ceremony was in Mt Stephen Hall and was gorgeous. The ring bearer had a great strut going down the aisle and was so cute! After the ceremony we headed out to the Cascade Gardens for some photos with the bridal party before whisking Dale and Lisanne away to Surprise Corner for the iconic images of the Banff Springs in the background, then off to the Bow Falls for a few more wedding portraits before it started to rain and we headed back to the hotel. We found Mt Stephen Hall transformed for the reception and the tables adorned with magnificent hydrangea centrepieces! (Will show off more decor in another post!). The speeches were beautiful, the dancing was fun and I’m still excited by the bagpipes!! It’s was a fantastic wedding and I’m so happy we could be there to capture every fabulous moment! Congratulations Lisanne & Dale!
