Danielle & Dan’s wedding happened on pretty much the most perfect day ever… summer temperatures and fall colours, just beautiful. Amy and I headed to Red Deer the day before to hang out and check out locations, so we were pretty excited when we could get in to check out the reception early to photograph all the gorgeous details in the morning before we went to cover everyone getting ready. Danielle had so much fabulous jewellery, I was over the moon happy to get to play with so many diamonds! One of the perks of having a jewellery store in the family! (If you’re in Red Deer and have a hankering for something pretty and shiny, check out Clowe’s)! After regretfully handing back all of the shiny things, Danielle got dressed in her gorgeous gown and I got to witness the sweet moment when her Dad got to see her all dressed up.. I think there were tears all around! Amy got to hang with the boys and have a pretty fun time before we headed out to the church for the ceremony. Afterwards, we went to the Old Water Treatment plant for formals photos… what an awesome location!! That was followed up by hanging with the statues downtown before going to the reception at the Holiday Inn 67. The speeches were sweet and it was a pretty great night of dancing! We also had the GiggleBooth going , what fun that was! Yup, it was a perfect day! Congratulations Danielle & Dan!

Thursday, April 4th, 2013Edmonton Wedding Photographers | Helan & Jamie | Oasis Centre wedding
Friday, February 8th, 2013Where to start with Helan and Jamie’s wedding? It was a beautiful day but there was a little smoke blowing over town from some forest fires up North so we were a little concerned about the outdoor ceremony and air quality, but all worked out well! I started the day and Helan & Jamie’s home where I photographed all of Helan’s fantastic jewelry, her TWO wedding dresses (yup, two beautiful dresses, lucky girl!) and her perfect Jimmy Choo shoes. Excuse me while I swoon at the memory! After hair and make-up were done, we headed to the Oasis Centre to finish getting reading before the outdoor ceremony on the grounds. It really couldn’t have been more perfect and that little bit of smoky haze made some really pretty light. The ceremony was beautiful and afterwards we stayed in the gardens at the Oasis for wedding party photos before heading inside for the reception. The Oasis is such a fabulous venue and we had a great night of dancing and fun. I think I went a little overboard on the photos though… have fun looking through! Congratulations Helan & Jamie! It was an awesome day!!
Red Deer Wedding Photographer | Dan & Danielle | water treatment plant wedding sneak peek
Tuesday, October 16th, 2012Danielle & Dan had the best luck in having the most amazing weather for their wedding in Red Deer nearing the end of September. It pretty much felt like early August and couldn’t have been any more perfect for such awesome people. For their wedding party photos we hung out at the old water treatment plant and it was just perfect with a mix of brick and decay with gorgeous fall colours overlooking the river. I loved Danielle’s dress, it was slinky and fit her beautifully. Dan looked pretty darn awesome too! This is one of my favourite photos of them, snuggling together, and it’s just perfect in black and white!

Edmonton Wedding Photographer | Ring Shot places 12th in WPJA Q3 contest
Monday, December 26th, 2011This was pretty exciting news on Christmas Eve. I got the e-mail from the WPJA (Wedding Photo Journalist Association) about the Q3 contest results and was super excited to see one of my Ring Shots placed in the Top 20 for the Ring Details category! The WPJA has tons of talented photographers, so I’m pretty happy. Next goal is to break the Top 10! I think we’ll do it in 2012!

Red Deer Wedding Photographers | Maria & Kevin | Coronation Park & Black Knight Inn
Sunday, December 11th, 2011This one is taking us back to a glorious day in July for Maria and Kevin’s outdoor wedding ceremony at Coronation Park in Red Deer. I love outdoor ceremonies, I just don’t get to photograph them enough. There’s always lots of light, and lots of space to run around for different angles, and I don’t have to worry about my shoes squeaking on the grass
The weather was just fabulous with a little bit of cloud cover for the ceremony in the park. After the ceremony we stayed around in the park for some family photos and few of the wedding party before heading over to the most amazing building in Red Deer, which just so happened to be home to an accounting firm. I love finding unique locations, and I’m willing to bet that Maria and Kevin were the first to have their wedding photos at that gorgeous building. Lucky we were there and they were so nice to let us come inside when the sky darkened and Red Deer was pummeled with hail! After the hail let up, we ended the photos at the old train bridge before going to the reception to grab some details at the Black Knight Inn. Luckily, the crazy weather passed quickly so the drive back to Edmonton in anticipation the next days’ wedding went smoothly.
So, you think it’s funny to show cans of OFF!… i think the OFF! was a guest at about 90% of my weddings this past year… it was a bad time for mosquitos in AB!

Beautiful location for an outdoor ceremony if you are looking for a spot in Red Deer.

I love the last hugs and kisses before Maria is “given away”.
