No, your eyes don’t deceive you… Theresa had three gorgeous dresses for her wedding day in the Wedgewood Room at Hotel MacDonald. It really could have been more perfect. The decor was amazing and Rob & Theresa, along with friends and family, put it all together themselves… including the focal point of the room, the beautiful big tree! After getting ready, Rob & Theresa had their “First Look” in the middle of the room and then popped out for a few photos before joining their guests for a pre-ceremony mingle (check out Theresa’s hot red dress!). Shortly thereafter, with a costume change, it was ceremony time and it was just beautiful with a pretty sweet moment celebrating their new family unit. After the ceremony Their were family photos and the GiggleBooth kicked off before a fantastic dinner was served. The evening was lively with speeches, a few serenades and, i think, the most surprising wedding first dance I’ve yet to witness! Congratulations Rob & Theresa!

Edmonton Wedding Photography | Wendy & Jack | Muttart Conservatory winter wedding
Sunday, April 14th, 2013Winter was in full swing when Jack and Wendy got married in November at the Muttart Conservatory. Luckily they chose the tropical pyramid for their ceremony and formal photos so we got to stay toasty and enjoy all the beautiful greenery before going out into the white wonderland for a few last portraits. Edmonton Wedding Photographers | Heather & Chad | Winspear Centre & Snow Valley Wedding
Thursday, April 4th, 2013Amy and I had a fantastic time at Heather & Chad’s wedding is past September. The weather was great, the locations were beautiful and the people were fantastic… what more could we ask for?? I joined Heather and the girls at her parent’s home where they were getting ready and Amy met up with the guys at the Winspear where they were finishing up decorating for the ceremony. Seeing Heather’s happy smile made me know the day was just going to be perfect. After getting ready, we headed downtown to the Winspear Centre for the ceremony and it was beautiful. Chad was the most emotional groom I’ve ever seen and I love thinking about his tears when he saw Heather! After the ceremony we wandered over to the Art Gallery of Alberta for some photos and then went to the trails near Snow Valley to finish up the rest of the formal photos before heading into the lodge for the reception. What a great place for a reception, the room was gorgeous! We had some fun with the shoe game and the speeches (watch for my favourite little guy wandering through during the speeches… he was hilarious), we ended the night with some cake, some dancing and fireworks!! Congratulations Heather & Chad!!

Thursday, March 7th, 2013Jennifer & Ryan’s Sunday wedding rounded out my triple header wedding weekend ( remember Mikalea & Bob and Sharla & Will?) with a beautiful early afternoon ceremony and reception in the Harvest Room at the Hotel MacDonald in Edmonton. We met up with Jennifer earlier in the day at Ryan’s parents’ place where she was getting ready. I fell in love with her pretty tea-length wedding dress the moment I saw it. I also loved the sentiment behind the pocketwatch on her bouquet that belonged to her Dad. After getting ready, Jennifer & Ryan did a first look before we headed out to do portrait with their motorcycle and then to Hotel MacDonald for more portraits and family photos before the ceremony.
The ceremony was perfect and I loved how emotional Ryan looked throughout. You’ll also notice Jennifer clutching a tissue in a few shots… and it was well needed! After the ceremony there was a reception in the same room and it was just beautifully put together by fabulous Edmonton wedding planner Kristina McAnally from Special Event Rentals with beautiful flowers from the Wild Orchid Flower Shop featuring a cool colour palette of red and aqua. It was a great day! Congratulations Jennifer & Ryan!
Edmonton Wedding Photographers | Sharla & Will | Awesome backyard tent wedding
Friday, March 1st, 2013After rushing back from Mikaela & Bob’s Banff wedding the day before, I got to photograph a second amazing wedding with Sharla & Will that all took place in Sharla’s parents’ amazing backyard! I met up with the girls at the house to shoot the details and to hang out while they were getting dressed and couldn’t help but sneak over to check out the progress in the backyard every so often… it was beautiful out there! It couldn’t have been a more perfect day for an outdoor wedding and in front of the gazebo was the perfect place to get married. The set up was beautiful and I loved the purple flowers lining the aisle. When Sharla stepped through the draping to begin her walk down the aisle, I was in awe of how perfect she looked and I’m pretty sure Will agreed! After the gorgeous ceremony we headed to the Devon River to do some photos before taking a short detour (what’s with knocking down old buildings and not telling me??) we headed back to the family property to have more photos and to play with a pretty fantastic car and Sharla & Will’s motorcycles. After that, it was a quick trip around the house to the reception set up in a beautiful tent and was decorated just perfectly! It was a great evening and we ended it for a little slightly drunken photo session back in the gazebo in the dark… I love shooting at night!! I’m so happy I got to be the one to photograph this wedding! Congratulations Sharla & Will!

Thursday, February 21st, 2013This is a bouquet after my own heart – it’s bold and glamorous and just a little bit dark with the dark red roses and swishy black ostrich feathers. It’s darn near perfect. Maybe it’s the crystals wrapping the handle that make it perfect. It’s the sort of bouquet that is guaranteed to grab attention on your wedding day!

Edmonton Wedding Photographers | Helan & Jamie | Oasis Centre wedding
Friday, February 8th, 2013Where to start with Helan and Jamie’s wedding? It was a beautiful day but there was a little smoke blowing over town from some forest fires up North so we were a little concerned about the outdoor ceremony and air quality, but all worked out well! I started the day and Helan & Jamie’s home where I photographed all of Helan’s fantastic jewelry, her TWO wedding dresses (yup, two beautiful dresses, lucky girl!) and her perfect Jimmy Choo shoes. Excuse me while I swoon at the memory! After hair and make-up were done, we headed to the Oasis Centre to finish getting reading before the outdoor ceremony on the grounds. It really couldn’t have been more perfect and that little bit of smoky haze made some really pretty light. The ceremony was beautiful and afterwards we stayed in the gardens at the Oasis for wedding party photos before heading inside for the reception. The Oasis is such a fabulous venue and we had a great night of dancing and fun. I think I went a little overboard on the photos though… have fun looking through! Congratulations Helan & Jamie! It was an awesome day!!
Edmonton Wedding Photographers | Whitney & Chayse | Old Timer’s Cabin wedding
Wednesday, February 6th, 2013Boy oh boy am I behind in blogging my weddings from the summer of 2012 and beyond. Here we go back a wickedly hot day in July for Whitney & Chayse’s vintage inspired wedding at the Old Timer’s Cabin in Edmonton> I met up with the girls up north for hair and make-up before heading to the hotel to capture them getting ready. I am in love with Whitney’s beautiful lace dress! And well, really, who can resist all the girly sparkly things? Once we were ready, we headed to the Old Timer’s Cabin for the ceremony and then wandered around Kinsmen Park and the area for the wedding party photos before I snuck Whitney & Chayse away on their own for a little bit in Mill Creek Ravine for some couple’s photos. We headed back to the reception for a great evening of speeches and dancing while we all melted a little from the heat. It was a great day! Congratulations Whitney & Chayse!!

Saturday, January 5th, 2013I ended my wedding season on December 30th this year at Theresa & Rob’s gorgeous Hotel MacDonald wedding. At any given time, the Wedgewood Room is beautiful, but it was the prettiest I’d ever seen for this particular wedding. It must have been the huge tree in the middle of the room that just pushed it over the edge… i’ll show some of those photos a little later on. For now, we’ll step out on to the terrace to for one of my favourite wintery formal photos from the wedding day with Rob & Theresa! Congratulations Theresa & Rob!

Edmonton Wedding Photographers – Jenny & Kerrie – chic downtown winter wedding sneak peek
Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013Jenny and Kerrie picked 12/12/12 as their wedding date and it was a fantastic, cold winter day in Edmonton. We started the Day at Union Bank Inn for the getting ready shots before heading to a beautiful ceremony at All Saint’s Cathedral. We braved the cold (-17!!) for a few outdoor photos before heading to the beautiful storefront of faBLOOMosity where we continued the wedding party photos. A huge thank you to Janine for letting us shoot in her beautiful store on that chilly December evening! The store is just spectacular looking and was the perfect backdrop for Jenny & Kerrie’s wedding photos. This one of my favourite shots of Jenny & Kerrie together!
