I was super excited to head to Banff for Mikaela & Bob’s wedding! We met up with them at Buffalo Mountain Lodge, which has become one of my favourite places in Banff for a wedding, to hang while everyone got ready. I loved Mikaela’s dress and the bridesmaids’ dresses as well (the blue was fabulous!). I also loved the girls’ cowboy boots… they looked awesome with their dresses! After getting ready, we headed into town to the ceremony at the gazebo. After doing family photos be the river, we headed out near Two-Jack Lake to take some photos near the water. We sent Mikaela & Bob out to a little island for some photos of the two of them before sending out the wedding party… I’m so happy they didn’t think I was toooo crazy for making them hike out through the water! We also managed to get the bride & groom into a canoe for a few shots as well before heading to the fields on the way to Bankhead where we also stopped for some champagne and a few photos at the ruin’s of the old church. We had a blast with Mikaela, Bob and the crew… such a good time with a super fun bridal party! We ended the night at Buffalo Mountain Lodge for the beautiful reception featuring sunflowers and amazing horseshoe table numbers that were made by the family. It really couldn’t have been any more perfect! Congratulations Mikaela & Bob!

Thursday, February 14th, 2013Canmore Portrait Photographer | Julie & Adam | post-wedding couples session
Saturday, April 28th, 2012Oh, we’re going a while back here to October for this lovely session in Canmore with Julie & Adam. We had been trying to figure out when to do the session for a few months before we could settle on a date. Originally it was going to be an an engagement shoot, but we couldn’t get our schedules to match up before their wedding in August (Julie just so happens to be an awesome wedding photographer based in Canmore… lucky girl!) so we decided to do a post-wedding shoot in their fabulous wedding clothes with awesome Canmore landscape as the backdrop. These are some of my favourite images from the post-wedding couples shoot!
Canmore Wedding Photographers | Bethany & Jason | Silvertip Resort wedding
Monday, December 5th, 2011Bethany & Jason’s Canmore destination wedding was the last wedding of my three wedding weekend, and boy, it was a fabulous way to end a very busy weekend! Leaving Edmonton, the weather was so-so, but as I got closer to Canmore, the weather just got better and better! The ceremony was outside on a gorgeous plateau at Silvertip Resort overlooking the mountains. We stayed around Silvertip for most of the photos, although we did go down into the river in Canmore. The reception was also at Silvertip and it was just perfect!!
Just look at that backdrop for the ceremony! Stunning!

Jason was so excited when he caught a glimpse of Bethany stepping out of the limo.

Their nephew was adorable trying to ring to bell to welcome Bethany.
Lake Louise Wedding Photographers | Nyla & Channce | Chateau Lake Louise wedding sneak peek
Thursday, November 17th, 2011Back in October I headed to the Rocky Mountains to photography Nyla & Channce’s beautiful wedding at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. As I was driving in from Calgary on the morning of the wedding, it was close to 0 degrees and just raining away. We toughed it out to do some portraits outside the hotel and then headed back inside to shoot in the awesome Belvedere suite. We lucked out though, and just as we were about to finish the portraits, the sun came out and we captured this glorious moment! Definitely one of my favourite wedding photos!!
Canmore Wedding Photographer | Bethany & Jason at Silvertip Resort | Sneak Peek
Wednesday, July 27th, 2011A few weeks ago I had a super busy wedding weekend and left the rain behind in Edmonton to head out to Canmore for Bethany and Jason’s wedding at Silvertip Resort. I am absolutely in love with the first dance photos where they danced outside on the patio with the golf course and the rocky mountains as a breathtaking backdrop. Here’s one of my favourites from the dance!
Kananaskis Wedding Photographer: Kaliegh & Mike’s wedding at Nakoda Lodge | Sneak peek
Wednesday, June 29th, 2011I was all set to have last weekend off and not shoot any weddings, but was lured to the Canmore area because I wanted to shoot with John Boccabella again. He always has such beautiful weddings. So I packed up friday morning and got hopelessly lost on my way to Canmore. Turns out it was Kananaskis that I was heading to and my GPS didn’t have the sense to tell me otherwise. I admit I got a little bit lost in an absolutely gorgeous part of the province, but I finally made my way to Nakoda on the Lake (I was still an hour early, whew, good thing I planned to be extra early… or good thing i’m not opposed to driving really fast….) where the wedding was going to take place. It was an extra windy day and I swear I saw a small child fly through the air at one point. Ok, not true, but the extra cute ring bearer and flower girl seemed to have a hard time walking down the aisle against the wind. Despite the wind, it was a gorgeous wedding and I was so happy to be there to help capture it. Here’s on of my favourite’s from the portrait session with lots more to come later!

Canmore Wedding Photographer | Landscape Inspiration for Canmore Weddings
Tuesday, June 14th, 2011A few weeks ago my friend Susan (from Picture That Photography) and I took a little roadtrip into the mountains to scout locations for weddings that we have coming up this summer. Our first stop was in Canmore and more specifically, at Silvertip Resort where I have a wedding in July. We wandered through to see where the reception was going to be (oh my, what a gorgeous room that will be for a wedding reception!) and then wandered off on the grounds around the golf course to look for good locations for photos. Afterwards we wandered over to the outdoor ceremony location is and we were lucky to catch it while it was all set up for a wedding. What a breathtaking spot with the mountains in the background and beautiful skies overhead. I really can’t wait to photograph the wedding here!
After leaving Silvertip, we travelled down the road and spotted this big pile of what looked like sand and rocks. I still don’t really know what it is, but it looks darn cool and I think I would like to use the spot for photos some time.
We also wandered into the town of Canmore and found a dry riverbed filled with awesome rocks and a beautiful backdrop of trees and mountains. I have such fabulous plans for this location! Canmore has such fabulous options for amazing wedding photos.
While I think all these landscape photos are nice, all I really want to do is get people into the pictures to make them that much more interesting! I’m never going to be a landscape photographer, I just need the energy and interest that people bring to really complete the picture. In the meantime, here’s my landscapes… just wait til I get to fill them with people this summer!!
Edmonton Wedding Photographer | Rock the Dress session with Jenny
Thursday, April 14th, 2011Rock the Dress. Trash the Dress. Day After Session. Post Wedding Portraits. It’s all the same thing really, just a different way to say that you got dressed up again in your gorgeous wedding clothes and had a fun and fabulous photo shoot that had none of the stresses of your wedding. Seriously, why wouldn’t you want to play wedding dress-up?
Jenny and I got together a few days ago in my studio so we could play wedding dress up. It’s been a few years since Jenny was married, but wowee, did she look great in her dress! We started off in the studio and Jenny broke out her cowboy boots and hat to go with the dress. She looked adorable, I especially love how relaxed she looks and I love when she is laughing. Afterwards we headed off to the creepy sprinkler room in my building (I love this space, it looks perfect for a horror movie) where we played with even more dramatic light and I love how she contrasts so gorgeously in such pretty, formal clothes against a pretty industrial looking background. These are a few of my favourite shots from the session.
